Growing up on a family farm at Wellington in Central West NSW, James has had a lifelong affinity with the land. He attended Orange Agricultural College, graduating with a Degree in Agricultural Commerce in 1993. A Graduate Traineeship was then completed with Westpac Agribusiness followed by roles as Agribusiness Analyst and finally Credit Manager prior to joining Monaghan & Associates Pty Ltd in 1997. North West Finance Pty Ltd took over the operations of Monaghan & Associates in 2003 with founder Tony Monaghan continuing to provide consulting services to the firm. James is married to Joan and has 3 boys, living on a small grazing property at Gowrie south of Tamworth.

 

Sharon Martin - Office Manager

Sharon has significant banking and finance experience having worked for Westpac and AGC for many years. Sharon looks after the day to day running of the office as well as equipment finance, credit application processing and bookeeping. Sharon is married with 2 children and lives on a small place at Moore Creek.\

 

Tina Scales - Finance Analyst

Tina joined the firm in 2005 and looks after financial reporting aspects of the business.  

She was originally from a family farm at Dunedoo in the Central West of NSW, and now lives with her husband and 2 children on a small property at Duri.

Jason brings to North West Finance over 12 years experience in agricultural economics, having worked as a regional economist with Agriculture WA for 7 years - primarily in the beef program evaluating research projects and production opportunities - and as a research economist with NSW DPI for 5 years looking at farm management options to deal with dryland salinity. He has also had stints as a business manager, in public accounting, as an animal nutritionist and cattle research assistant. He has had varying commercial interests over this time currently co-owning a hardware store on the Mid-North Coast and trading cattle on a small property in the Tamworth district.

 

Joan Smith - Office Administrator
